#idea An AI tool that automatically apply for grants, scholarships, or jobs in a personalized manner.

Why you?

I ran a non-profit, raised ~$100,000, and first hand saw how difficult it was to fundraise. This took time away from actually building the organization, so it felt like I always had to be in fundraising mode. This same lose-lose situation applies to students, researchers, and immigrants—all of which I identify as.

Prove people need this

  • GrantMe is a company that hires people to help with scholarship and school applications ($5M rev in 2021)
  • GrantMatch is a company that matches small businesses to government grants ($5.2M rev)
  • Simplify Jobs automatically fills out job applications and more recently tailors your resume based on keywords ($1.32M raised)
  • Professors have casually said they would pay for this

Reasons I can beat them

  • Using AI will be more scalable than people, and should statistically yield better results
  • My university and high school have “gamed” applications. Other companies are quite disconnected whereas I understand all the nuances of this.

Concerns

  • No paying customers yet
  • No MVP yet
  • If all applications are filled out with AI, at some point, that destroys the system. Luckily, if we control it we can lead the future of work (proof of work and knowledge instead of resumes).

Future

  • Help with interviews
